A message from Jeni's sisters....

It is with great sadness that we have to write to let you know that our amazing courageous littlest sister Jeni died on Saturday morning. We are beyond devastated.

Jeni was taken to hospital on Thursday afternoon with a severe headache. This was confirmed as a bleed on the brain. She was transferred to St Georges Hospital, but overnight her condition worsened to the extent that she was taken into intensive care and put on a ventilator. Mum and Filo arrived at the hospital on Friday morning to this news and immediately called us to be with Jeni.
We told her how much we loved her, that we would take care of her boys and that it was ok for her to go. We told her Dad was waiting for her.
The doctors had been hoping to take her off the ventilator and insert a shunt in her brain to relieve the pressure but her condition continued to deteriorate very quickly to a point where it was believed she had suffered brain stem death.

Jeni, being the amazing person she was, had signed up to be an organ donor. We had the news this morning that she had been able to help save several lives with the donation of her liver, both kidneys and pancreas.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for the support and love you have shown not just Jeni, but our entire family over the last 8 weeks. These are some of our darkest days, but together with your support we know we will get through it.

This blog was very important to Jeni. It helped her share her thoughts with you. This last blog post honours the end of her journey.
